This year's Festival Key Artist is Vivian Shih, an artist and illustrator currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Vivian's work explores emotional vulnerability, strength and internal reflection in relation to cultural influences in fashion, music and urban life. In her personal paintings, she focuses on the connection and relationship between human and nature in inks and watercolor on paper. Her works incorporates themes of environmentalism along side female strength and self-discovery through travel and exploration.  While utilizing transparent media and line weight to support her concepts, Vivian plays with density, pattern and fluidity of lines with her medium.

Additionally, 2020 marks the 50th Anniversary of Visual Communications' founding. On Saturday, May 12, 2018, we will host a gala with the theme "Coming Home" as part of PAST//FORWARD, a series of fundraisers to provide ongoing support for VC. Round out the 2018 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival with us as we recognize and honor those who have and continue to shift the narrative. Save the Date!
