Visual Communications Recognized as One of "America's Cultural Treasures" and Receives LA Arts Recovery Fund Grant
/We are thrilled to be a recipient of the LA Arts Recovery Fund! As one of 90 nonprofits receiving grants, we are excited to continue serving our community and contributing to the rich cultural fabric and economic recovery of LA County.
The traumatic events of the past year necessitated us to focus on the present and adapt to survive, but they also gave us the opportunity to pause and reflect, while giving us moments to reimagine our futures - ideal worlds built on shared values of equity and justice. We recognized moments that we could have done better, and how we can be better to engage systemic structures. Support from the LA Arts Recovery Fund is a catalyst for Visual Communications to reignite our work and rebuild towards our shared future; collective work that not only centers diversity, equity, and inclusion, but also includes actions to sustain anti-racist movements.
We are humbled to be recognized as one of “America’s Cultural Treasures.” Our deepest gratitude to the supporters for the fund and initiative. Thank you for believing in us.
As we look towards our future, we’d like to also thank the hundreds of cultural workers who have given to Visual Communications in the past 50 years. These are people who have given their personal sacrifice and dedication; people who made great things happen. We are here at this present moment because of you.
