Racial and sexual violence against marginalized communities have been long standing issues in the United States. These Armed With a Camera films are commentaries on fetishization, violence, and white supremacy that subvert your expectations.

COLOR-BLIND (2019) by Sarah H. Cho
Dahlia and Freddy have been having an affair for years. When their relationship comes to an explosive head because of Dahlia's refusal to leave her husband for Freddy, Freddy discovers that he may not know her as well as he thinks.

Chiyomi Ogawa first wore her wedding dress in the shadow of Manzanar, a Japanese American concentration camp. The dress was then worn by five other women. This is their story. In this disturbing and satirical K-pop music video, a new idol band of four sisters called the Comfort Girls undergo dramatic surgical transformations and are subjugated by a historical cast of male imperialists, all while singing and dancing to a modern, infectious Korean pop song.

Kapua Hollands shares her hula beginnings, a family legacy, and the Hawaiian culture that she passes on to her students. MEN HELPING WOMEN (2019) by Isue Shin
An experimental exploration of the way male artists abuse their positions of power in lieu of mentorship. Voices speak back to a male monologue loosely consisting of “apologies” amidst sexual assault allegations, alluding that when there's more of us, we’re louder, and we’re not afraid.

Bound together by their shared youth growing up in Los Angeles during the Japanese American internment camp and Vietnam War era, older sanseis gather for breakfast as an alternative to meeting at funerals. When a young girl who loves unicorns goes to the carnival and realizes it doesn't have a real unicorn, she learns about the importance of speaking out and organizing with a community of people whose unicorns look different, but who all dance together under a glittery rainbow. Politicians, police officers, and right-wing pundits all agree: White On™ is the best solution to the race problem since Jim Crow! This piece is a satirical look at white privilege in the United States, under the guise of an infomercial for a skin whitening cream.

An elderly woman grieving over her recently deceased husband prepares for his burial by laying his body on a block of ice, but discovers that this is no ordinary block of ice, and this is no ordinary night.
