Our excitement is growing as we see treasures from the VC Archives come to life for AT FIRST LIGHT: The Dawning of Asian Pacific America. Taking place on the second floor of the Japanese American National Museum (JANM) from May 25 - October 20, 2019, our retrospective exhibit encapsulates our collective quest for authentic portrayals of our communities.

Reflecting our vision for social and political equality during VC’s first two decades from 1970-1990, AT FIRST LIGHT is also a call to action today as the current administration seeks to erase the many gains made by women, people of color, and activists of all disciplines.

AT FIRST LIGHT will be an emotional, evocative experience because seeing history come to life has moved us, especially as our Asian American movement activists and peers are still active and eager to share their stories.

Will you donate to support AT FIRST LIGHT?

By donating $500 or more, you will receive an original 1971 VC-produced Ethnic Understanding Series kit of ASIAN AMERICAN PEOPLE AND THINGS, one of the first educational materials created to exhibit Asian Pacific experiences and cultures.

See you soon at our opening!

Sincerely,
