The Academy Foundation of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today 44 recipients of its 2017 FilmCraft and FilmWatch grants. Visual Communications is one of the recipients of the grants for the Armed With a Camera Fellowship Program.

Read MoreThis week our 2017 Armed with a Camera Fellows went to Portland to visit LAIKA Entertainment (KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS, CORALINE, CORPSE BRIDE, PARANORMAN) for a studio tour. The Fellows observed all stages of a working stop motion animation studio, from LAIKA staff choosing different fabrics for costume design, to building the robot mechanisms for the puppets used in the films.
