VC at Doc Films

FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY! Three short films will be featured at Doc Films in Chicago, each directed by one of VC's original founders — Eddie Wong, Duane Kubo, and Robert A. Nakamura. PIECES OF A DREAM (1974)
Directed by Eddie Wong, Pieces of a Dream tells the story of Asian Pacific American life and history on the Sacramento River delta. The film follows the lives and hardships of immigrant farm laborers that came to America through Angel Island to work.

CRUISIN' J-TOWN (1975)
Directed by Duane Kubo, Cruisin' J-Town follows Dan Kuramoto, June Okida Kuramoto, and Johnny Mori—three musicians from the jazz fusion band "Hiroshima". The film dives into the group’s influences and roots in contemporary Asian American culture in the early 1970s.
