An update about the 2020 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival

Dear VC Supporters,

As Visual Communications prepares to launch our 36th annual Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival from April 30 to May 8, we wanted to let our friends, supporters, and partners know that your health and safety is our top priority. At the Festival, we celebrate our artists and stories while providing safe spaces for our communities. We are committed to the well being of our volunteers, artists, and audiences.

We are closely monitoring the latest developments of coronavirus (COVID-19) and are listening to the recommendations of our local health officials at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. We are moving forward with our Festival as planned, and should the situation change, we will update you right away.

We acknowledge that this virus has been racialized and has incited hateful acts towards our communities. Visual Communications will proceed with caution, but not with fear. While we are seeing anti-Asian sentiments that perpetuate perilous narratives, we envision that the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival will continue to be a safe space for expression, engagement, and empowerment.

If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please contact us at festival@vcmedia.org.

As always, thank you for your unwavering support.

With Gratitude,

Francis Cullado, Executive Director
